The short answer
Choose Local Viking if Google post publishing is the core of your work: spintax, recurring and chained posts across many listings, listing protection against unwanted edits, plus traditional keyword tracking for Maps and organic results. Its GeoGrid credits also roll over, which suits occasional scanning.
Choose AuraLocal if you want rankings updated often and a clear plan to improve them: 10 grid keywords per profile refreshed daily, a movable grid with the top 5 competitors at every pin, a 100-point profile audit with a 30-day plan, AI review replies, one-click photo-to-post, and live ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode visibility checks.
The two tools cost the same at 10 locations: $59 a month. The difference is what that buys. Local Viking's $59 plan includes 8,100 GeoGrid credits shared across all 10 listings, enough to keep about 5 keywords updated daily on a 7x7 grid. AuraLocal's $59 plan keeps 100 keywords (10 per profile) updated daily. AuraLocal is our product, so we've also listed where Local Viking is the better choice.

Same price, very different amounts of tracking
Local Viking sells five plans by number of listings. Each plan includes two separate credit pools: keyword credits for traditional rank tracking, and GeoGrid credits for map grids, where every grid point costs 1 credit. A 7x7 grid costs 49 GeoGrid credits per keyword, per scan.
AuraLocal charges a flat price per number of profiles. Every profile tracks 10 keywords on a 7x7 grid, and each keyword can be refreshed every 24 hours with no credits.
What each plan keeps updated daily
Updating one keyword daily on a 7x7 grid takes 49 × 30 = 1,470 credits a month. Here's how far each plan goes:
| Local Viking plan | Listings | GeoGrid credits/month | Keywords updated daily (total) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single, $39 | 1 | 7,500 | 5 |
| Starter, $59 | 10 | 8,100 | 5 |
| Pro, $99 | 20 | 16,200 | 11 |
| Agency, $149 | 40 | 24,300 | 16 |
| Enterprise, $200 | 70 | 32,400 | 22 |
| AuraLocal plan | Profiles | Credits needed | Keywords updated daily (total) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter, $39 | 1 | None | 10 |
| Growth, $59 | 10 | None | 100 |
| Agency, $139 | 30 | None | 300 |
| Scale, $239 | 60 | None | 600 |
| Pro, $379 | 120 | None | 1,200 |
At 10 locations, both tools cost $59. Local Viking keeps 5 keywords fresh daily across all 10; AuraLocal keeps 100. For an agency with 40 clients, Local Viking's $149 plan covers 16 daily keywords in total, while AuraLocal's $239 Scale plan covers 600 across up to 60 profiles.
When Local Viking's credits go further
The gap shrinks if you scan less often. Weekly scans use about 7 times fewer credits, so Local Viking's $59 Starter plan covers roughly 38 keywords scanned weekly on a 7x7 grid. Its GeoGrid credits also roll over month to month, so a quiet month builds a reserve. And Local Viking's plans include keyword credits for traditional Maps and organic rank tracking, which AuraLocal doesn't offer separately.
How we calculated this: 49 credits per 7x7 scan × 30 days = 1,470 GeoGrid credits per keyword per month, using Local Viking's published plan credits, checked October 6, 2026. Smaller grids use fewer credits; disabled grid points aren't charged.

Which is better for geo-grid rank tracking?
Local Viking offers more grid sizes and traditional rank tracking; AuraLocal offers more daily grid data and more control over where the grid sits.
Local Viking runs GeoGrid scans in five sizes, from 3x3 up to 13x13, including scans for service-area businesses. You can disable individual grid points so you aren't charged for spots on water or empty land, schedule scans, and export grid images. Alongside the grid, its traditional rank tracker follows keywords in Maps and organic results on desktop and mobile, using a separate pool of keyword credits.
AuraLocal uses a 7x7 grid of 49 checkpoints for 10 keywords per profile, and every keyword can be refreshed every 24 hours. You can move the whole grid to any area you want to check, such as a neighboring town, move single pins and re-check just those spots, and click any pin to see the top 5 competitors at that exact location. Each keyword keeps a ranking history, so you can see what moved and when.
The practical difference: Local Viking's grid is flexible, but its credits limit how often you can use it across many locations. AuraLocal's grid is one size, but you can refresh it daily for every keyword without counting credits.

Which is better for managing your Google Business Profile?
Local Viking is built for publishing and protecting listings at scale; AuraLocal is built for finding what's wrong with a profile and fixing it.
Posts and photos
This is where Local Viking started, and it shows. You can schedule standard, offer and event posts across many locations at once, use spintax to vary the wording automatically, set posts to recur, and chain posts so a new one goes out when the last one ends. Its GeoBooster feature uses AI to create hyperlocal content, and you can geotag images before uploading them.
AuraLocal schedules Google posts on every plan and builds them from your photos. Upload photos and geotag them as you go, let AI screen out low-quality images, then turn any photo into a scheduled post in one click, with the post text written by AI from what's in the image. If you publish dozens of posts a week across many listings, Local Viking's bulk tools go further. If you want good posts with little effort, AuraLocal's photo-to-post is faster.
Listing protection
Local Viking's Attribute Sentry locks your listing details and blocks unwanted edits, and it notifies you if a listing is suspended. AuraLocal doesn't offer edit protection. For agencies managing listings in competitive or spam-heavy categories, this is a real Local Viking advantage.
Audits and fix plans
Local Viking doesn't list a dedicated profile audit. AuraLocal scores the whole profile out of 100 across identity, content, reputation, operations and SEO, ranks every gap by impact and effort, and builds a week-by-week 30-day plan. It also crawls your website and flags any mismatch in name, address, phone, hours, categories or description between your site and your listing, and its competitor view ranks rivals by strength and tracks who is gaining reviews fastest.
Reviews and AI visibility
Both tools let you monitor and reply to Google reviews from one dashboard. AuraLocal drafts AI replies in the tone you choose and publishes them straight to Google. AuraLocal also checks whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode recommend your business for buyer-style prompts, which Local Viking doesn't list. Which is better for agencies?
Local Viking is built around agency workflows for listing management. AuraLocal gives agencies more tracking per dollar and a fix plan for each client.
Local Viking lets you connect many Google accounts, organize listings with tags, and run bulk actions across them. From the Pro plan ($99 for 20 listings) up, you can white-label reports with your own logo and a custom URL and embed a GeoGrid widget on your site. It manages over 300,000 listings for more than 1,500 agencies, according to the company.
AuraLocal keeps cost per client flat with daily tracking included: 30 profiles for $139 a month and 60 for $239. Teams work in shared workspaces with owner, admin, member and viewer roles. Client reports are live links covering rankings, maps, profile metrics and AI visibility, which clients open without logging in. Connecting a Google account finds every Business Profile it manages. PDF exports and custom branding are not available yet.
The quick test: if your service is mostly posting and protecting listings, Local Viking's bulk tools and Attribute Sentry fit well. If your service is improving rankings and showing clients the proof every day, AuraLocal gives you far more grid data for the money.
