The short answer
Choose Local Dominator if you want a flexible, credit-based grid tracker with lots of options: grids up to 15x15, unlimited keywords, white-label reports on every plan, credits that roll over from the Pro plan up, and paid add-ons for AI tracking across many AI tools and citation building.
Choose AuraLocal if you want rankings refreshed daily at a fixed price, plus the tools to act on them: 10 grid keywords per profile refreshed every 24 hours, a movable grid with the top 5 competitors at every pin, a 100-point profile audit with a 30-day plan, post scheduling with one-click photo-to-post, AI review replies, and live ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode checks.
The biggest difference is what daily tracking costs. Keeping 10 keywords updated daily for 10 locations takes 147,000 credits a month on Local Dominator, which needs its $399 Enterprise plan. On AuraLocal the same setup is $59. AuraLocal is our product, so we've also listed where Local Dominator is the better choice.

What daily tracking really costs
Local Dominator sells credits. Every grid point costs 1 credit, so a 7x7 grid costs 49 credits per keyword, per scan. Plans differ by monthly credits and the number of Google Business Profiles you can connect, and AI tracking and citation building are paid add-ons.
AuraLocal charges a flat price per number of profiles. Every profile tracks 10 keywords on a 7x7 grid, and each keyword can be refreshed every 24 hours with no credits.
How far each plan goes
Updating one keyword daily on a 7x7 grid takes 49 × 30 = 1,470 credits a month:
| Local Dominator plan | Monthly credits | GBP connections | Keywords updated daily (total) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite, $39 | 5,000 | 1 | 3 |
| Advance, $59 | 15,000 | 15 | 10 |
| Pro, $97 | 36,000 | 25 | 24 |
| Powerhouse, $197 | 81,000 | 80 | 55 |
| Enterprise, $399 | 178,000 | 200 | 121 |
| Daily tracking, 10 keywords per location | Local Dominator | AuraLocal |
|---|---|---|
| 1 location | $59 (Advance) | $39 |
| 10 locations | $399 (Enterprise) | $59 |
| 30 locations | More than Enterprise's 178,000 credits | $139 |
For 10 locations updated daily, that's $399 a month versus $59, about $4,080 a year.
When Local Dominator costs less
The gap closes fast if you scan weekly. Weekly scans use about 7 times fewer credits, so 100 keywords on a 7x7 grid scanned weekly (about 21,000 credits) fit the $97 Pro plan. From Pro up, unused credits roll over, so quiet months build a reserve. And because keywords are unlimited, Local Dominator suits big keyword lists that only need checking now and then.
Add-ons to budget for
- AI Tracker: $49 per site per month on top of any plan.
- Citations Builder: $35 per location.
How we calculated this: 49 credits per 7x7 scan × 30 days = 1,470 credits per keyword per month, against Local Dominator's published monthly credits, checked October 6, 2026. Larger grids use more credits. Annual billing lowers Local Dominator's prices, for example Lite to $32.50 a month.

Which is better for geo-grid rank tracking?
Local Dominator offers bigger grids and unlimited keywords; AuraLocal offers daily refreshes at a fixed price and more control over where the grid sits.
Local Dominator runs GeoGrid scans up to 15x15 (225 points), with dedicated scans for service-area businesses, scheduled scans, competitor rankings and bulk keyword search. Its AI Scan Analyzer explains scan results, and its SERP Tracker follows organic rankings too. Because every keyword is unlimited, you can track large keyword sets, as long as your credits cover how often you scan them.
AuraLocal uses a 7x7 grid of 49 checkpoints for 10 keywords per profile, and every keyword can be refreshed every 24 hours with no credits. You can move the whole grid to any area you want to check, such as a neighboring town, move single pins and re-check just those spots, and click any pin to see the top 5 competitors at that exact location. Each keyword keeps a ranking history, so you can see what moved and when.
The practical difference: Local Dominator is the better fit for detailed, occasional deep-dives with big grids. AuraLocal is the better fit when you want to watch your most important keywords every day without counting credits.
Which is better for managing your profile and AI visibility?
Audits and fix plans
Local Dominator's AI Scan Analyzer interprets your grid results and suggests improvements, and its site audit checks your website. AuraLocal scores the whole Google Business Profile out of 100 across identity, content, reputation, operations and SEO, ranks every gap by impact and effort, and builds a week-by-week 30-day plan. It also flags any mismatch in name, address, phone, hours, categories or description between your website and your listing, and ranks competitors by strength while tracking who is gaining reviews fastest.
Posts, photos and reviews
Both tools let you manage Google Business Profiles and schedule posts. AuraLocal adds a photo workflow: upload photos and geotag them as you go, let AI screen out low-quality images, then turn any photo into a scheduled post in one click, with the post text written by AI from what's in the image. AuraLocal also drafts AI review replies in your chosen tone and publishes them straight to Google.
Citations
Local Dominator sells a Citations Builder add-on at $35 per location. AuraLocal doesn't build citations, so if citation work is part of your service, Local Dominator covers it in the same platform.
AI visibility
Local Dominator's AI Tracker is an add-on at $49 per site. The company says it covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Google AI Overviews, which is broader coverage than AuraLocal's. AuraLocal checks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode for buyer-style prompts like "best roofer in Denver," showing whether you're mentioned, your position, sentiment and the competitors named instead, right next to your map rankings.
If you need many AI platforms and don't mind the add-on, Local Dominator covers more. If ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Mode are the ones that matter to you, AuraLocal has them in the same dashboard as your rankings. (Best AI visibility tools for local businesses)
Which is better for agencies?
Local Dominator includes white-label reports on every plan, from the $39 Lite plan up, which few grid trackers do. Its plans scale by GBP connections (1 on Lite up to 200 on Enterprise, with larger plans above), and rolling credits on Pro and above help agencies whose scanning varies month to month. Agencies selling citation work can add the Citations Builder.
AuraLocal keeps cost per client flat with daily tracking included: 30 profiles for $139 a month, 60 for $239 and 120 for $379. Teams work in shared workspaces with owner, admin, member and viewer roles. Client reports are live links covering rankings, maps, profile metrics and AI visibility, which clients open without logging in. Connecting a Google account finds every Business Profile it manages. PDF exports and custom branding are not available yet.
The quick test: if you send clients branded PDF reports from occasional deep scans, Local Dominator fits well. If you want to show clients daily movement on their most important keywords at a fixed cost per client, AuraLocal costs far less: 10 clients updated daily is $59 a month versus $399.
